Our team came together two years ago with the goal of educating others on local and world folklore and mythology, and to help explain misunderstandings that have come up around famous stories and folklore.
Writers
Our writers work on making articles, presentations and bringing to life the stories from the past in fun, interesting ways. They work to write stories, lists, analyses and anything else that might bring new light to the unknown.

Marley McKimmens
Head Writer
Having graduated from UNC with a degree in Ancient World Literature, Marley works on the main articles of Wondrous Strange. Her goal is to both capture the mood and tone of the stories as well as to write the story in the same engaging way that it would have been told all those years ago.

Michael Han
Article Writer and Editor
Michael graduated from Duke with a focus on editing. He works on the magazine articles and often act as Editor in Chief. He works to make sure that every article is free of inconsistencies as well as to double check to see that the articles and stories are all accurate to the source matter.
Researchers
Our researchers might have the most important jobs of all. They are the ones who learn about the subject, going through databases and different sources to help bring together the clearest narrative possible. These are the people who find out the stories that we tell and learn all about the most amazing things.

Samantha Wells
Head Researcher
Samantha Wells is a historian who has focused on cultural importance of folklore and religion world wide. Her understanding of the importance of different stories allows us to choose and present myths that both give a clear view of the countries they come from as well as help to give some understanding into the meaning that they had.

Mary Cumbie
Secondary Researcher
Mary Cumbie is a recent graduate from Columbia State University, where she focused on Liberal Arts. She researches local history and events, and often hosts monthly events as well as words out the information that will be presented.
Volunteers
Our story tellers, set designers, and anything else. Some are actors, some are ghost hunters themselves, but all of them are here to help to bring our stories to life and to guide you into the unknown.
